The Walker S2 is the full-size industrial humanoid robot from Chinese manufacturer UBTech. Unveiled in July 2025, it entered mass production in November of the same year. Its distinguishing technical feature is a dual battery that the robot replaces by itself in about three minutes. UBTech has placed it with carmakers and with electronics and logistics groups, and then with Airbus in early 2026.
When the Walker S2 launched and what it is for
According to Yicai Global, UBTech launched the Walker S2 in July 2025 as a full-size industrial humanoid. Mass production and deliveries began in November 2025. On its official page, the manufacturer presents the robot alongside two software components. “Co-Agent” is an agent designed for industrial humanoid robots. “BrainNet 2.0” coordinates multiple robots as a swarm on a production line.
In UBTech’s current range, as described by KrASIA in August 2026, the Walker S2 is the industrial model. It sits alongside the Walker C1, a biped aimed at commercial services, education and research, and the UWorld U1 consumer series, which is focused on companionship.

Autonomous battery swapping
UBTech describes the Walker S2 as the “first humanoid robot capable of changing its battery autonomously”. The robot carries two batteries and can run on one or both. The swap takes place without human intervention, in about three minutes according to the manufacturer.
Range of motion and payload
The Walker S2 rotates its waist by ±162° and tilts its torso by 125°. This lets it work across a vertical range from floor level up to 1.8 m. UBTech quotes a payload of 15 kg.
Mass production and target capacity
In a press release issued in Shenzhen on 17 November 2025, UBTech announced the start of Walker S2 mass production. It also reported the delivery of a first batch of “several hundred” units. At the time, the manufacturer was aiming to deliver 500 units in 2025. It was targeting annual production capacity of 5,000 industrial humanoid robots in 2026, then 10,000 in 2027.
Capacity figures for 2026 vary between sources. The November 2025 press release gives 5,000 units. Yicai Global, in January 2026, reported expected annual capacity of 10,000 units from 2026. In August 2026, KrASIA cited a production target of 10,000 full-size humanoids a year for 2026. These figures refer to production capacity and targets, not deliveries.
On 30 June 2026, at the launch of its UWorld U1 series, UBTech reiterated that the Walker S series had entered mass production. The company also claims to have ranked first worldwide by revenue and by volume for full-size humanoids in 2025.

UBTech full-size humanoid deliveries
Published delivery figures cover all of UBTech’s full-size humanoids, not the Walker S2 alone.
- Full year 2025: Gasgoo, reporting on the annual results published on 31 March 2026, gives 1,079 full-size humanoids delivered. The segment generated around 820 million yuan, or 41% of total revenue of 2.001 billion yuan, which was up 53.3%.
- Cumulative to July 2026: 36Kr reported on 6 July 2026 cumulative deliveries of more than 1,000 full-size units, around 80% of them for industry.
- First half of 2026: KrASIA reports 921 full-size humanoids sold, up 1,946.7%. Segment revenue reached RMB 590.3 million, against RMB 38.2 million a year earlier, or 46.5% of group revenue. Deep News, cited by Gasgoo, puts humanoid sales for the half at 16,123 units, up 268.3%, without defining the scope used.
According to KrASIA, the group posted a gross margin of 44.7% and a net loss of RMB 338.8 million for the half. The interim results announcement filed with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on 28 August 2026 gives half-year revenue of RMB 1,269,130 thousand, against RMB 621,460 thousand a year earlier. Mainland China accounted for RMB 992,215 thousand, and Hong Kong and overseas for RMB 276,915 thousand. A single customer contributed RMB 308,543 thousand, or about 24% of group revenue.
Walker series orders
The 17 November 2025 press release puts Walker series orders since the start of 2025 at more than 800 million yuan. UBTech gives a conversion of about $112 million. The release also cites two contracts:
- a data collection centre in Zigong, worth 159 million yuan, which was the second order of the year;
- the largest order of 2025, worth 250 million yuan, signed in September.
Yicai Global gives a higher figure: the total value of UBTech’s humanoid orders reportedly exceeded CNY 1.4 billion in 2025, or $200 million according to the outlet. The scopes differ. The November release covers the Walker series since the start of the year, while Yicai covers all humanoids over the whole of 2025.
Walker S2 customers and applications
Automotive, electronics and logistics
The November 2025 press release names several partnerships:
- BYD;
- Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor;
- Geely Auto;
- FAW-Volkswagen Qingdao;
- Audi FAW;
- BAIC New Energy;
- Foxconn;
- SF Express.
The applications cited are car manufacturing, smart factories, logistics and data collection centres. In January 2026, Yicai Global listed Texas Instruments, BYD, Foxconn and SF Express among Walker S2 customers.
Airbus and aerospace
According to Yicai Global, Airbus bought the industrial version of the Walker S2, a purchase announced by UBTech on 18 January 2026. The two companies plan to explore further uses in aircraft production. KrASIA, for its part, writes that Airbus bought one Walker S2 in early 2026. According to Yicai, aerospace becomes UBTech’s fifth major application area. It joins automotive, consumer electronics (3C), smart logistics and semiconductors. On 19 January 2026, UBTech shares (Hong Kong code 9880) closed up 8.6% at HK$144.7.
Fangchenggang border crossing
German site Börse Express stated on 5 July 2026 that Walker S2 robots are deployed at the Fangchenggang border crossing between China and Vietnam. The deployment is said to be part of an order worth more than $40 million. The robots reportedly direct heavy goods vehicle traffic and assist with customs checks. The outlet relies on “reports” it does not name: the original source of this information has not been identified.
