Buying a Unitree robot from France means looking beyond the price the manufacturer displays. The official catalogue lists several models in US dollars, excluding taxes and shipping. Other channels exist, including German retailers for the G1 and a pre-order offer for the R1 on AliExpress reported in the press. Shipping, warranty and technical support terms are key points to examine.
The Chinese manufacturer Unitree offers the G1 and R1 humanoid robots, among others, each in several versions. They differ in price, mechanical capabilities, software development options and stated warranty length. In France, Instadrone, a company based in Béziers, is also working on adapting the G1 for professional missions.
How much do Unitree robots cost? Official prices
The Unitree catalogue, consulted on 20 October 2026, lists the G1 at $13,500, excl. taxes and shipping. This price applies to the standard version. For the G1 EDU, the manufacturer refers buyers to its sales team and does not publish a price.
The R1 range starts at $4,900 for the R1 AIR. The standard R1 is listed at $5,900. Both prices also exclude taxes and shipping. The R1 EDU version is available on request.
These are the manufacturer’s reference prices, not French prices including all taxes and delivery. They apply to different configurations, with varying equipment and programming options.
Unitree G1 and R1 models: official specifications
The official spec sheets make it possible to compare the two humanoid families. The standard G1 has 23 degrees of freedom, compared with 26 for the standard R1 and 20 for the R1 AIR. The EDU versions offer more configuration options.

The G1 and G1 EDU specifications come from the official Unitree spec sheet consulted on 20 October 2026. The warranties for the R1 versions are taken from Unitree information reported in the presentation of that range.
For the G1, the manufacturer lists a depth camera, a 3D LiDAR, an eight-core processor, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. Its 13-cell lithium battery has a capacity of 9,000 mAh and can be swapped quickly. The G1 EDU raises the stated maximum knee torque to 120 N·m, compared with 90 N·m for the standard version. The stated maximum payload per arm is about 3 kg for the EDU and 2 kg for the G1, varying considerably depending on posture.
The standard R1 features a binocular camera, a two-axis head and a two-axis waist. The R1 AIR has a monocular camera, with no head or waist movement. The EDU versions can take additional equipment, including optional dexterous hands.
Buying direct from the official Unitree website
The official website is the first identified purchasing channel. Unitree publishes prices there for its standard and AIR versions, while the EDU versions require contacting the sales team.
The press reported R1 shipments from the official website starting in May 2026. The catalogue sets out the specifications and warranties stated by the manufacturer, with durations that differ by version.
To work out the full cost of buying from France, several items need to be taken into account:
- The price of the chosen configuration, in the currency displayed by Unitree.
- Taxes due on arrival.
- Shipping costs and any additional import charges.
- The warranty that applies to the exact version purchased.
- Repair, return and support arrangements after delivery.
- The equipment and software development options included in the configuration.
The list price is therefore the starting point of the calculation, while the commercial and technical terms determine the cost and conditions of owning the robot.
Unitree R1 on AliExpress: another buying route reported in the press
The R1 was also offered for pre-order on AliExpress. According to press reports, shipments from the platform were due to begin on 30 June 2026, after those announced for the official website in May.
The reference prices were $4,900 for the R1 AIR and $5,900 for the standard R1. The article covering this pre-order also reported shipping costs to France of €680. This shipping estimate came from the press, not from Unitree’s official price list.
This buying route concerns a humanoid robot whose configurations differ significantly. The base model presented in this offer does not have grasping hands. Unitree also describes the R1 as a civilian robot and stresses the need to keep a safe distance while it is operating.
Unitree G1 price at German retailers
German distributors have also listed the G1. The prices recorded help place European offers relative to the official dollar price, without artificially converting currencies.
On 2 September 2026, offers seen at German retailers ranged from €17,884 to €27,370, depending on the seller.
An earlier check, carried out on 3 April 2026, showed €17,884 at Joybuy, shipping included, and €27,275.89 at Reichelt. These figures were reported based on information from MonsterDealz.de and Notebookcheck.
Six German retailers listed the G1 at the time. Only one of them advertised delivery within fourteen working days. Being listed in several catalogues did not mean the robot had the same delivery times everywhere.
Accessories may also be priced separately. One retailer listed a spare battery at €839.99 and a remote control at €297.50. The three-fingered hands were not part of the base G1’s equipment.
These offers show a European sales channel that is separate from Unitree’s official catalogue. The prices and delivery times reflect what was observed on the dates given.
Unitree warranty, after-sales service and software: what to check
Warranty length varies by version
The warranty stated by Unitree varies considerably from one model to another. It is eight months for the standard G1 and eighteen months for the G1 EDU. For the R1 family, the durations reported from manufacturer information are six months for the AIR, eight months for the standard version and twelve months for the EDU.
Before buying, the contract terms should be checked for repair coverage, return arrangements, any shipping costs and support procedures. The stated duration is only one aspect of the warranty.
SDK and programming options
The version chosen also affects development options. Unitree explicitly supports secondary development for the G1 EDU. This configuration can take an additional compute module, notably from the Orin family, and optional Dex3-1 three-fingered hands with force feedback.
For the R1 range, Unitree offers open joint control and sensor interfaces, compatible with the main simulation platforms. The EDU version adds advanced development options and can take Orin boards rated from 40 to 100 TOPS, according to the manufacturer.
Checking the software tools that come with the exact configuration is particularly important when a robot has to be adapted to a technical project. Optional equipment, available interfaces and development features are among the characteristics to examine separately from the price.
Shipping, battery and accessories
The G1 and R1 use quick-swap batteries. The G1 comes with a charger rated at 54 V and 5 A. Its official battery life of about two hours is a manufacturer figure, and real-world operating conditions may vary depending on the task.
Accessories should be identified in the details of the sales offer. The remote control listed on the official G1 spec sheet, for example, should be checked against the configuration the seller actually offers, as some distributors also publish separate accessory prices.
Instadrone in Béziers: adapting the Unitree G1 in France
In France, Instadrone, a company based in Béziers, is adapting a Unitree G1 humanoid robot for rescue, security and inspection missions. The project, reported by Futura, is an example of technical integration built around an existing platform.
Futura cites a price generally under €16,000 for the robot alone. This figure is an indication reported by the outlet and is separate from Unitree’s official list price of $13,500 excl. taxes and shipping.
Battery life is another point of difference. Futura reports a stated battery life of one hour for the G1 in the context of this presentation, while the official Unitree spec sheet gives about two hours. The two figures are attributed to different sources.
Instadrone’s work focuses on adapting the robot to specific missions. It is a French example of technical use of the G1 beyond its catalogue configuration.

- French retailers: no official French distribution network and no verified French retailer could be identified.
- French prices: no official euro price including taxes and delivery has been confirmed for the G1 and R1 models.
- Local after-sales service: the existence of a French repair centre, local support arrangements and response times have not been confirmed.
- Warranties: the full contract terms are set out in separate documents and are not detailed in the available spec sheets.
- Software development: the name and exact content of the G1 EDU SDK are not detailed. SDK availability for the standard G1 has not been confirmed.
