China’s UBTech, listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange under the code 9880, now sells two families of humanoids that are bought in completely different ways. The Uworld U1 series, launched on 30 June 2026 in Shenzhen, is the group’s first full-size consumer humanoid and is available for pre-order in China. The Walker S2, launched in July 2025, is an industrial robot sold to businesses. For a buyer based in France, the picture is far less clear.

The short answer
- Uworld U1: it can be ordered in China on JD.com, with a deposit of 3,000 yuan. According to AI Weekly, it is sold to Chinese households and restricted to adults. The press reports prices ranging from 119,800 yuan to 990,000 yuan depending on the version. According to the official UBWorld store, the first batch has been delayed, which UBTech denies.
- Walker S2: this is an industrial product sold to businesses, from the automotive sector to aeronautics. UBTech does not list a public price for this model.
- France and Europe: no sales to private buyers have been confirmed.
Uworld U1: pre-orders open in China
Where to order, deposit and conditions
According to TechNode and AI Weekly, pre-orders opened on 2 June 2026 on JD.com. The deposit is 3,000 yuan.
In its press release, UBTech lists several uses: everyday companionship, emotional support, reception and hospitality, elderly care, psychological support, tourism and exhibitions, research and education, and high-end domestic service. The group also says it will donate 100 customised U1 robots in 2026 to children separated from a parent, isolated elderly people and families in difficulty.
Uworld U1 price by version
The official press release of 30 June 2026 only gives a price “from RMB 119,800“. The breakdown by model comes from the Chinese press (36Kr):
- U1 Lite (half-body): 119,800 yuan. AI Weekly puts it at around $17,650, a conversion made by the outlet.
- U1 Pro (full body): 169,800 yuan.
- U1 Ultra (full body, high dynamics): 990,000 yuan for the male version and 880,000 yuan for the female version.
Humanoid Guide reports the case of a Beijing investor who paid 159,800 yuan for a female U1 Pro, below the 169,800 yuan list price.
What each U1 version can do
According to 36Kr, the three versions do not have the same capabilities:
- the Lite turns its head, blinks and holds conversations;
- the Pro sits, lies down, hugs and produces micro-expressions;
- the Ultra walks on two legs, dances and follows the user around the home.
Also according to 36Kr, none of the three folds laundry, cooks or sweeps.
TechNode says more than 50 body models were shown, with heights between 1.60 m and 1.85 m. AI Weekly cites a 183 cm male model and a 168 cm female model, with silicone skin and a Rockchip RK3588 processor (according to UBTech).
KrASIA also mentions:
- more than 300 composite micro-expressions, grouped into four categories;
- touch-sensitive electronic skin;
- an automatic head lock when the robot is powered off;
- data that the user can export and delete.
According to TechNode, this data is encrypted and stored locally by default.
How many U1 orders: what the sources say
The figures vary depending on the source:
- TechNode and AI Weekly quote founder Zhou Jian, who speaks of more than 11,000 orders across all channels;
- UBTech’s press release, picked up by KrASIA and Humanoid Guide, gives more than 13,361 cumulative orders on launch day, 30 June 2026. This total covers the period since 2 June.
On 6 July 2026, 36Kr reported more than 13,000 pre-orders and deposits exceeding 40 million yuan.
U1 delivery date: a disputed schedule
TechNode and Humanoid Guide had announced that the first batch would ship on 16 September 2026.
On 29 September 2026, 36Kr relayed a report from Damo Finance stating that the official UBWorld store had indicated the first batch was postponed to 30 November. UBTech called these reports “inaccurate”. The group says the U1 series “has already begun deliveries” and that production and shipping are carried out “in batches according to the order of reservations”.
The same article reports that chief financial officer Zhang Ju allegedly lowered the annual delivery target to 1,500 to 2,000 units during the August earnings call.
Walker S2: an industrial robot sold to businesses
Walker S2 customers and sectors
In its press release of 17 November 2025, UBTech announced the start of mass production and the delivery of a first batch of “several hundred” Walker S2 units. It cites partnerships with BYD, Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor, Geely Auto, FAW-Volkswagen Qingdao, Audi FAW, BAIC New Energy, Foxconn and SF Express. The uses mentioned are automotive manufacturing, smart factories, logistics and data collection centres.
On 18 January 2026, UBTech announced that Airbus had bought the industrial version of the Walker S2, according to Yicai Global. The two companies are to explore further uses in aircraft production. Yicai describes aerospace as the group’s fifth major application scenario, after automotive, 3C electronics, smart logistics and semiconductors. The outlet also lists Texas Instruments among its customers.
Börse Express claims, citing unnamed “reports”, that Walker S2 robots are deployed at the Fangchenggang border crossing between China and Vietnam. They are said to direct heavy goods traffic and assist with customs checks, as part of an order worth more than $40 million.
Walker S2 orders and volumes
Two order figures are circulating for 2025, covering different scopes:
- more than 800 million yuan for the Walker series since the start of 2025, according to UBTech’s November 2025 press release;
- more than 1.4 billion yuan for all humanoids in 2025, according to Yicai Global.
The November 2025 press release also gives:
- a largest single order of 250 million yuan, signed in September 2025;
- a 159 million yuan contract for a data collection centre in Zigong;
- a target of 500 units delivered in 2025;
- a targeted annual capacity of 5,000 industrial humanoids in 2026 and 10,000 in 2027.
Yicai and KrASIA, for their part, mention a target of 10,000 units a year from 2026.
On deliveries and sales, Gasgoo reports 1,079 full-size humanoids delivered in 2025. This segment accounts for about 820 million yuan in revenue, or 41% of total revenue of 2.001 billion yuan.
For the first half of 2026, the sales figures do not cover the same scope:
- KrASIA counts 921 full-size humanoids sold, for RMB 590.3 million, or 46.5% of the group’s revenue;
- Deep News, cited by Gasgoo, reports 16,123 humanoid units sold, without defining the scope used.
According to 36Kr, cumulative deliveries of full-size humanoids exceeded 1,000 units in early July 2026, about 80% of them for industry.
What about France and Europe?
In its half-year results filed on 28 August 2026, UBTech reports revenue of RMB 1,269,130 thousand. Of this total, RMB 992,215 thousand came from mainland China and RMB 276,915 thousand from Hong Kong and overseas, across all products.
